For example, the design outline
for a new swaging machine was based on an existing larger
design.
The aim was to reduce the weight of the assembly whilst
optimising the structural integrity and performance of the
components. The critical design consideration of the machine
was its ability to function in extreme temperature conditions as
low as -40°C, and
up to 30°C.
An analysis was performed on the new
outline design to optimise the mass and
structural integrity of the assembly. The revised total
mass of the assembly was 34% less than the client had initially thought
likely.
All of the component parts
of the assembly were substantiated for acceptable stresses and
deflections.

Due to the variety of
problems that the engineers at DC White & Partners Ltd get asked
to investigate, it is impossible to cover them all. If you have
a technical problem with a piece of machinery, plant, process or
even a need for a machine that doesn't exist, we are confident
that DC White & Partners can solve the problem for you. |
