Vibration Analysis, Reporting and Monitoring Equipment

DC White Engineering Consultants has developed specialist, standalone three-axis vibration monitoring equipment capable of continuous, unattended condition monitoring for up to 10 days. Operating at very high frequency sampling rates with an integrated power supply, this equipment removes the need for site supervision or an external power source, making it well-suited to both industrial and civil engineering environments.

Ambient and Impact Monitoring

Beyond long-period ambient vibration monitoring and condition monitoring applications, DC White’s field equipment can be used to conduct impact tests for determining soil transmissibility values. The handheld seismic monitoring configuration is intentionally simple to deploy, making it practical for remote or difficult-to-access locations where a mains supply is unavailable. This capability is particularly valuable in geotechnical surveys and ground vibration assessments.

Where Vibration Monitoring is Critical

Vibration monitoring is essential where construction activity or vibration-generating plant operates in close proximity to sensitive equipment. Machinery such as CNC machine tools, MRI scanners, and FaroArm coordinate measuring systems can be adversely affected by floor-transmitted vibration, even at low amplitudes. Continuous monitoring allows baseline levels to be established, exceedance events to be logged, and the data to inform structural mitigation or scheduling decisions.

DC White’s monitoring services are regularly engaged across nuclear, pharmaceutical, precision manufacturing, and civil engineering projects, where regulatory or contractual requirements demand traceable vibration records.

Targeted High-Frequency Plant Monitoring

DC White also offers battery-operated, high-frequency vibration monitoring equipment designed specifically for plant applications, including motors, fans, pumps, and rotating machinery. The system uses magnetic-based sensors that attach securely to lagged or high-temperature pipework and plant surfaces without requiring insulation removal.

Each cable allows up to three monitoring locations to be served simultaneously from distances of up to 100m, making this system efficient across large survey areas. The ruggedised, waterproof sensor housings ensure reliable data capture in demanding industrial environments.
